Arnold "De" DeJarnett, 88, of Paducah, passed away at 2:05 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2013, at McCracken Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Paducah. He was a retired letter carrier for United States Postal Service. Arnold was a member of West End Baptist Church where he served as deacon. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Arnold was an avid Golfer, Hunter and enjoyed bowling and watching UK basketball.
Arnold is survived by his wife, Patsy English Shaffer DeJarnett; daughter, Lynne Mason of Louisville; sister, Inez DeJarnett Jerrell of Paducah; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jane Brown DeJarnett, sister, Leona Barnett; and a brother, Eugene DeJarnett. His parents were William Sherman DeJarnett and Mollie Illa Dodson DeJarnett.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, February 18, 2013, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. Larry Lindsey and the Rev. Terry Sills officiating.
Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
