Benford Lee Watts, Age 94, of Mayfield KY died Saturday August 29, 2015 at his residence.

He was an; Army WWII Veteran serving Company A 204th Infantry Battalion; member of Northside Baptist Church; member of the American Legion Post #26; KY Colonel.

Mr. Watts was survived by; wife of 47 years Betty Dowdy Watts, one son Earl Lynn Watts of Lexington KY, two daughters Pam (Jeff) Gossum of Mayfield and Vernita (Jim) Duncan of Newman GA, one sister Katherine Hinners of Metropolis IL, 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by; brother Arlie Watts, sister Dorothy Goodin, parents Elbert Boyd and Zora Ellen Dick Watts.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00AM Tuesday September 1, 2015 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield. Rev. Monte Hodges and Rev. Glenn Cope will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mayfield Memory Gardens. Joe Tucker, Trent Schmidt, Bruce Kisslinger, Jimmy Parm, Kent Parm, and Billy Parm will serve as pallbearers. Wayne Potts, Benny Bell, Jeff Gossum, Jerry Bennett, Ralph Holt, and Kenneth Crouch will serve as honorary pallbearers. Military graveside rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #26. Visitation will be held from 5-8PM Monday August 31, 2015 at the funeral home.
