Bertie Rothwell

Funeral services for Bertie Rothwell, 88, of Paducah will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. The Rev. Jamie Broome will officiate. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
She died Sunday, June 28, 2009, at Lourdes hospital.
Bertie was a lifelong resident of Paducah and an original member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She was an active member of Paducah Woman's Club, Western Baptist Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary, and McCracken County Homemaker's Association. She worked at J.C. Penney's in the Ladies Ready to Wear Department for 12 years. She retired from Paducah Bank as a teller. After retirement, she enjoyed painting and ceramics through the local Senior Center. She also enjoyed traveling, especially an Alaskan cruise with her husband and friends and a trip to Germany with her daughter and an Immanuel Baptist tour group-led by Tony Whitfield.
Surviving are her daughter, Linda Clements and husband Jerry of Atlanta, GA; a son, Craig Rothwell and wife Susan of Paducah; seven grandchildren, Chuck Wahl of Paducah, Sherry Rothwell Clements of Atlanta, GA, Joseph Clements of Frisco, TX, Matt Clements of Hollywood, CA, Daniel Rothwell of Paducah, Cheryl Rothwell of Oak Park, IL, and Natalie Rothwell Rooney of South Haven, MS; three great-grandchildren, Nikki Wahl, Chase Wahl, and Hunter Wahl; and two great-great grandchildren, Kayden Wahl and Bailey Paige Wahl.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 55 years, Woodrow Hudson Rothwell; a daughter, Doris Sharon Rothwell Wahl; one sister, Annie Wyatt; three brothers, Herbert Wyatt, Carlos Wyatt and Bertrand Wyatt; and a grandson, Chris Wahl. Her parents were Julius Monroe Wyatt and Etnia Mae Crochett Wyatt.
Visitation will begin after 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
