Betty Jean Pierce, 85, of Paducah passed away at 8:25 a.m. Saturday, January 29, 2011, at the home of her son.
She was a member of Houser Grove Church of Christ, a homemaker and a 1942 graduate of Heath High School.
Mrs. Pierce is survived by two sons, Mark D. Pierce and wife Tammie of Paducah and Timothy K. Pierce and wife Karla of Paducah; four grandchildren, Lynn Pierce Coleman of Danville, Ky., and Nathan Pierce, Matt Pierce and Kent Pierce, all of Paducah; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Freda Peyton Walker of Paducah; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Peyton of Paducah.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Earl Pierce; a daughter, Cynthia C. Pierce; a sister, Mary Virginia Mendenhall; and a brother, James Harvey Peyton. Her parents were James Henry Peyton and Bessie Harvey Peyton.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 1, 2011, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Justin Hasty officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
The Pierce family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour of 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 1, 2011, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
