Carol Wilson Smith, 73, of Evansville, Indiana, formerly of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away at 1:30 A.M. Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at Linda F. White Hospice House.
Carol was born in Brady, Texas on August 29, 1945 to Winfred and Virsey Wilson. She loved animals, was an avid gardener, enjoyed sewing, watching TV and playing ball with her grandson. Some might say she was a “spitfire”, for you didn’t cross her without hearing her opinion in the matter. Her beautiful spirit shone brightly through her work and the way she treated people. She will be remembered as a woman who loved fiercely and was well loved.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter, Taraha LeShay Baum (Tony), of Evansville; her grandchildren, Eli Keister, Caila Smith, Austin Augustus; her sisters-in-law, Sharon Boyd (Jim), Betty Adamson (Owen), Ruthann Egner, all of Paducah; her brother-in-law, Larry Smith (Janice), of Owensboro, Kentucky.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Jerry Austin Smith; her sons, Jeffrey Brent Smith and Bryan Scott Smith; her parents, Winfred Wilburn Wilson and Virsey Mae Alston Wilson; her brother, David Wilson.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Monday, August 12, 2019 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Homes with Pastor Jim Boyd officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. Monday, August 12, 2019 at the Lone Oak Chapel.
