David Wayne Baker, 52, of Paducah, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2009, at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Zion, Ill.
He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, an entrepreneur and business owner. He also was an Alumni of the Kappa Alpha Order and a graduate of Transylvania University. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a Kentucky Colonel, a Boy Scout Leader and a high school and middle school soccer coach for the St. Mary School System.
Mr. Baker is survived by his wife, Lynn Bradley Baker; a daughter, Mary Patricia Baker of Paducah; a son, Clayton Bradley Baker and wife Ashley of Paducah; two grandchildren, Jordan Bradley Lamont Baker and Marcus Clayton Baker, both of Paducah; his father, Huey Palmer Baker of Michigan; three sisters, Pamela Baker of Louisville and Karen Smith and Sheila Higdon, both of Paducah; three brothers, Douglas Baker of Colorado and Larry Baker and Dale Baker, both of Paducah; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Billings Baker.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 17, 2009, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with the Rev. J. Patrick Reynolds officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Friends may visit the family from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. today, August 16, 2009, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Prayers will be said at 7:00 p.m.
