David R. Fuller, age 62, of Paducah passed away at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Lourdes hospital.
Mr. Fuller was the Labor Relations Manager at UDS. He was retired from USEC after 33 years, where he served as Union President for 10 years. He had been a member of the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers Union - Local 5-550 and a member of PACE for 33 years. He was instrumental in the creation of the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program, which has helped countless Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant workers and their families. He loved fishing, golfing, hunting and working in his yard and most of all he deeply loved his family.
David is survived by his beloved wife, Katherine Cooper Fuller; and three daughters, Julie Fuller Leidecker and husband, Steven, Laura Ann Nichole "Nikki" Fuller, and Meagen Joan Fuller, all of Paducah, and one son, John David Fuller of Paducah. He leaves behind three grandchildren, Kendrick Allen Fuller, Mimi Lane Leidecker and Abigail Grace Leidecker, all of Paducah; his parents-in-law, Joan and G.W. Cooper of Paducah; an aunt whom he loved like a mother, Jo Ann Fuller of Farmington, Utah; nephews David Anderson of Fayetteville, Ga., and Will Myre of Paducah; and a niece, Georgie Myre of Paducah; and cousins, loved like siblings, Teressa Fuller and Roger Fuller Jr. of Farmington, Utah, Bobbie Jacobson of Idaho, and Steve Adams and Betty Driver, both of Paducah.
Mr. Fuller was preceded in death by his parents, James William Fuller and Margaret Blanton Anderson; a brother, Johnny Fuller; an uncle, whom he loved like a father, Robert Fuller; an aunt, Margaret Adams; and his beloved grandmother, Rubie "MaMaw" Fuller.
Pallbearers will be David's dear friends: James Harbison, Steve Polston, Steve Leidecker, Bill Harrison, Wayne Potts and Rick Goode. Donna Steele will serve as the honorary pallbearer.
Services for David R. Fuller will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2009 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Brian Roby officiating and burial at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Wednesday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
