Doris Ann Collie, 84, of Paducah, Ky., passed away at 10:22 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Western Baptist Hospital.
She was born in Madison, Nebraska. Doris worked at Sears, Southern Textile, and General Adjustment Bureau. Doris was a member of the Arcadia United Methodist Church and the Homemakers Club. She was a volunteer at the American Quilter's Society Museum and was a host for quilters.
Doris is survived by her daughters, Jo Ann Growel of Paducah, Ky., Pam Violette of Seven Lakes, N.C., and Melissa Bracken and husband, Jeff, of Dallas, Texas; son, Keith Collie and fiancée, Luz Green of San Diego, Calif.; sisters, Betty Ray of Madison, Neb., Jeanne Stevens of Las Vegas, Nev.; grandchildren, Justin Growel, Jennifer Growel, Danny Violette, Mikey Violette, and Alex Violette; great-grandchildren, Jeramiah Growel and Elijah Growel; sister-in-law, Robbie Ivy of Paducah, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe M. Collie; son-in-law, Jerry N. Growel; and a brother, George Wolfgram Jr. Her parents were George and Anna Cloeter Wolfgram.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at the Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. David Garrett officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at the Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
