Edith Oakley Attebury, 92, of Lone Oak died Friday morning at 10:05 a.m. at Lourdes hospital.
Edith was a native of Trigg County, a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church and retired from Florsheim Shoe Factory. She had a great love for her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, loved getting up and getting dressed for the day.
Services will be held Monday, April 5, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with the Rev. Todd Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The Family will receive friends after 5 p.m. Sunday at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
Survivors include one daughter, Wanda Carrell of Lone Oak; one son, Tommy Attebury and wife Wanda of Paducah; two sisters, Mary Littlejohn and wife Ed of Palma, Ky., and Cornelia Sparrow of Calvert City, Ky.; three grandchildren, Dianna Hampton and husband David, Todd Carrell and wife Shari, and Sheila Kortz and husband Gary, all of Lone Oak; five great-grandchildren, Christopher Hampton, Sean Carrell, Jessica Carrell, Kevin Kortz and Kendal Kortz, all of Lone Oak; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband, William Thomas Attebury; her parents, Chester A. and Alpha Ahart Oakley; one sister, Retha Wells; and three brothers, Jesse, Andrew and Otis Oakley.
