Services for Eli P. Powell, 88, of Paducah will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Lindsey Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Bogard officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
He died at 3:19 p.m. Friday at Lourdes hospital.
Mr. Powell was a member of Church of God of Peoria, Ill. He worked 31 years as a machine operator with Caterpillar.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and enjoyed working on automobiles.
Surviving are his wife, Bertie E. Powell of Paducah; two sons, Larry Joe Powell of Lehigh Acres, Fla., and Jerry Wayne Powell of Atlanta; a daughter, Chiri Kay Grant of East Peoria, Ill.; two sisters, Dorothy Morgan and Opal McDaniells; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oras and Virlie Shotwell Powell; two sons, Dwayne Harold Powell and Kenneth Eugene Powell; two daughters, Dorothy Jean Egli and Patricia Ann Powell; two brothers, Franklin Powell and Roscoe L. Powell; and three sisters, Charline Hill, Eunice Langston and Imogene Phillips.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Lindsey Funeral Home.
