MAYFIELD, Ky. - Services for Fred D. Pack, 70, of Mayfield will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield, with the Rev. Phillip Rudd officiating. Entombment will follow in Mayfield Memory Gardens Mausoleum, with military graveside rites conducted.
Mr. Pack died at 5:21 p.m. Sunday at his home.
He retired from the U.S. Army with 26 years' service, having served in Vietnam, Korea and the Panama Canal. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
He was the minister at the Land Between the Lakes Church and a member of Masonic Lodge of Germany No. 834.
Surviving are his wife, Gloria Jean Carter Pack; five daughters, Jeanne Schramer of Cuba, Christine Torres of Glendale, Ariz., Christina Amaya of Katy, Texas, Lora Pack of Farmville, Va., and Kelsey Pack of Wingo; four sons, Dennis Pack of San Juan Bautista, Calif., Craig Pack and Dalton Pack, both of Mayfield, and Robert Pack of Texas; two sisters, Mary Orren of West Virginia, and Ann Mudock of Iowa; three brothers, Elmer Pack of Okefenokee, Fla., Virgil Pack of Beckley, W.Va., and Melvin Pack of Arizona.
He was preceded in death by one son, Brian Keith Pack; and three brothers. His parents were James C. and Alva Stover Pack.
