Gary Gammon Carter, 74, of Henderson, Nev., formerly of Paducah died Saturday at Odyssey Harbor House in Las Vegas.
He was born November 29, 1936 to the late James Melvin and Lois Ann Gammon Carter.
Gary was the owner and manager of West Kentucky Auto Parts Warehouse and was a member of Kentucky Automotive Warehouse Association (KAWA). He was a long time member of Broadway Church of Christ and Lone Oak Church of Christ. In addition, he was a member of American Contract Bridge Association.
Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Peggie Peck Carter; five children, Holly (Scott) Carter Long of West Paducah, Marc (Liz) Drew-Carter of Troy, Mo., Patrick (Abigail) Carter of Henderson, Nev., Brent Carter and Bob German, both of Louisville; four grandchildren, Gammon Long, Kaitlynn Long, Desmond Carter and Ryan Carter; three brothers and two sisters.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Andy Clausen officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to Parkinson's Foundation or hospice.
