KEVIL - George Edward "Eddie" Yancy, 55, of Kevil died Tuesday, April 5, at his residence.
Mr. Yancy was a retired Table Games Floor Supervisor for Harrah's Casino in Metropolis. He was of the Baptist faith.
Eddie was an accomplished musician and a member of several bands. He was well known as the lead singer and guitarist for Whitehorse. His most recent musical endeavor was a new band called Two Years Late. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and a devoted pet lover.
Surviving are his wife, Sherry Kennedy Yancy of West Paducah; his parents, William Charles "Bill" and Lee Anna Burton Yancy of Reidland; his daughter, Christa Yancy of Paducah; his stepsons, Michael Lindblad and Dustin Lindblad Dill, both of Paducah; his sister, Martha Sue Yarbrough and husband, Steve of Paducah; his grandchildren, Alexandria Nicole Scott, Zachary Dale Scott, and Brandon Lynn Edward Miller; his nieces, Amber Yancy and Renee Yarbrough; his nephew, Austin Yarbrough; his great-niece, Blakelynn Bond; his great-nephew Dylan Bond.
He was preceded in death by his brother, William Bruce Yancy; and his grandparents, George and Susie Burton and W.H. and Leoda Yancy.
Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. on Friday at Lindsey Funeral Home and again Saturday from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
