MAYFIELD - Goebell Leon Vaughan, 89, of Mayfield died at 4:40 p.m. Sunday at Mills Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Vaughan was a retired police officer, a state park ranger and also worked for the Kentucky Highway Department. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Mary Ann Vaughan of Mayfield; one son, William Vaughan of Mayfield; two brothers, Harold Vaughan of Murray and J.T. Vaughan of Mayfield; one sister, Linda Rickman of Mayfield; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rosa Lee Vaughan; his second wife, Elaine Vaughan; one son, Jerry Vaughan; two grandchildren; and one brother. His parents were Dewey and Farah Carr Vaughan.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Mayfield Memory Gardens with family members officiating.
