Gus Barclay, age 88, of Mayfield died Tuesday October 28, 2014 at Mills Health and Rehab.
He was a member of the House of Prayer in Mayfield, Army Air Corps WWII Veteran, and retired owner/operator of Singer Sewing Machine and Barclay's Fabrics in Mayfield.
Mr. Barclay is survived by his wife of 66 years, Addis Barclay; three daughters, LaDonna (Dale) Miller of New Albany IN, Brenda (Bobby) Whitford of Pryorsburg and Carla Gilpin of Sedalia; one sister, Glinda Towery of Mayfield; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by; two brothers, Robert Barclay and James Barclay; four sisters, Mary Shelton Garland, Betty Fuller, Corinne Swann Poling, Phoebe Minnic; son-in-law, Phillip Gilpin; parents were Bob and Iva Edwards Barclay.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00PM Saturday November 1, 2014 at the Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield. Rev. Ray Hopkins & Rev. Verlin Clark will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mayfield Memory Gardens. Scott Miller, Robert Whitford, Brian Miller, Joshua Gilpin, Jonathan Gilpin, and Greg Mathis will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 12:30-2:00PM Saturday November 1, 2014 at the funeral home.
