Funeral services for Harold "Shorty" Ford of West Paducah will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. The Rev. Randy Grimes will officiate. Burial with military rites will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Ford died Friday at Western Baptist Hospital.
"Shorty" was born February 3, 1927 in Paducah to the late Herman and Evelyn Hall Ford. He served in the Army during the Korean War. "Shorty" had worked as a car salesman for Baker Oldsmobile and Paducah Ford. He and his wife, Janette, owned and operated Shorty's Little Castle from 1969-85. He was a Paducah City Commissioner from 1980-88, and served on the Paducah-McCracken County Tourist and Convention Commission Board for ten years. He also attended Bible Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Janette Byassee Ford; a daughter, Teresa Grimes and husband Randy of Cumming, Ga.; six grandchildren, Chris Grimes and wife Lezlie, Derek Grimes, Erica Grimes, Noah Grimes, Jeremiah Grimes and Alexa Grace Grimes, all of Cumming, Ga.; three sisters, Wanda Ray and husband Collis of Paducah, Peggy Attebury and husband Walter of Marion, Ill., and Jenny Attebury and husband Paul of Sturgis, Ky.; three nieces; and two nephews.
Preceding him in death were his daughter, Lisa Gayle Ford, and his parents, Herman and Evelyn Ford.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
