GOLO, Ky. - Helen Orene Newsome, 100, of Golo died Tuesday at Heritage Manor Healthcare Facility.
Mrs. Newsome was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church in Graves County, a former Sunday school teacher and retired from Merit Clothing.
Surviving are one son, James Newsome of Murray; two daughters, Stella Drew of Mayfield and Virginia Purdo of Davie, Fla.; one brother, Lowell Smith of Graves County; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyce Newsome; one daughter, Thelma Louise Eckerdt; three brothers; one sister; one great-grandson; and two great-great-grandchildren. Her parents were James Kelly Smith and Flora Enza Riley Smith.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Byrn Funeral Home with the Rev. Aubert Rose officiating. Burial will be at Mayfield Memory Gardens.
