Herman F. Gipson, 82, of Paducah died at 8:41 p.m. Monday, August 16, 2010, at Lourdes hospital.
He was a member of Paducah First Church of the Nazarene and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He was a retired maintenance worker for Paducah Housing Authority and a member of the D.A.V.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary "Maggie" Tucker Gipson; three sons, Rick Gipson and wife, Debbie, Jimmy Gipson and wife, Judy, and Mike Gipson and wife, Martha, all of Paducah; two brothers, James Gipson and wife, Alice, and Delbert Gipson and wife, Joana, both of Paducah; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harley and Ella Holder Gipson; one sister, Imogene Peck; and two brothers, Earl Gipson and Richard Gipson.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, August 19, 2010, at Lindsey Funeral Home with the Rev. Russ Frazier officiating. Military graveside rites will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. today, August 18, 2010, and noon Thursday, August 19, 2010, until the funeral hour at Lindsey Funeral Home.
