Jack Vance, 75, of Paducah passed away Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. at his residence. Services will be held Monday, August 4, 2008, at 10 a.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Queen officiating. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends after 5 p.m. today, August 3, 2008, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
Mr. Vance was a graduate of Heath High School in 1951. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served at the close of the Korean War. He was retired from Sears as a salesman in both the Appliance and Sporting Goods Departments. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. He was an avid golfer and member of Paxton Park. He was also a UK "Big Blue" Basketball fan.
Jack is survived by his wife of 32 years, Gail Terry Vance; two sons, Doug Vance and wife Karen of Colleyville, Texas and David Vance and wife Cindy of Frankfort; one stepson, Kevin Criswell of Atlanta; one stepdaughter, Terry Criswell Bowerman and husband Kenny of Paducah; one sister, Jeanne Robbins of Searcy, Ark.; three grandchildren, Andrew Kyle Vance of Stuart, Fla., Nicholas Chiapputo and Abigail Marie Vance, both of Colleyville; two stepgrandchildren, Andy Bowerman and Clara Redfern, both of Paducah; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy N. Vance and Mary Bryan Vance and one brother, Roy Vance Jr.
