James Edward Adkins, 66, of Paducah, passed away at 11:45 A.M. Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Jimbo, as he was known to most everyone, was born in Paducah on November 13, 1951 to Eddie and Eva Adkins. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Murray State University and was employed as a Cascade Operator at USEC for 41 years. He served there as a Committeeman with the Paper, Allied-Industrial, Chemical and Energy Workers International Union (PACE), formally O.C.A.W. He was a leader with the Boy Scouts of America for 30 years, serving as a Cubmaster for Pack 105 in Concord, Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 4 of Concord and a Vigil Honor Member of the Order of the Arrow White Feather Lodge. He was the owner of Jim Adkins Accounting and Tax Service, and a member of First Baptist Church of Paducah.
Mr. Adkins is survived by his wife of 43 years, Pamela Spencer Adkins; his daughter, Kimberly King (David), of Louisville, Kentucky; his son, James C. Adkins, of Cleveland, Ohio; his grandson, Arthur King.
Mr. Adkins was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Lee Adkins and Eva Marie Gilmore Adkins; his brother, Kit Gerald Adkins.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. Saturday at the Funeral Home.
