James Emmitt Alderdice, 98, of Lone Oak died at 5:07 p.m. Saturday at Lourdes hospital.
Mr. Alderdice was a former schoolteacher and retired maintenance supervisor at Union Carbide. He was a member of the Lone Oak Volunteer Fire Department and a U.S. Air Force World War II veteran. He was a member of Lone Oak Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife, Vivian "Rupelle" Alderdice; one daughter, Janet Farmer of Murray; one son, Steve Alderdice of New Orleans; one sister, Ruth Hodges of Royal Oaks, Mich.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers. His parents were Charles and Hattie Boyd Alderdice.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Boyce Helms officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
