James D. Elliott, age 91, died at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday at his home in Lone Oak.
He was a member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church and a Veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II in Signal Corps. He retired from TVA as an Instrument Mechanic and was a member of IBEW #816.
Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner and Orr Funeral Home with Dr. Willis Henson and Rev. Bob Elliott officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Family will receive friends after 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner and Orr Funeral Home.
Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Auta Mae Atherton Elliott; one son, James D. Elliott Jr. (wife, Jan) of Paducah; one sister Marie Adams, (husband, Gene) of Calvert City; one brother, Rev. Bob Elliott (wife, Florence) of Jackson, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Laura Kay Blackman (husband, Larry) of Boaz, Ky., and Brent Elliott, Paducah, Ky.; two great-grandchildren, Logan Blackman and Tristina Blackman; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Maxwell Duke Elliott and Ethel Arington Elliott; and one brother, Louis Elliott.
