MURRAY - James Wilson Maddox Jr., 93, of Murray, formerly of Mayfield, died Wednesday at Hickman-Clinton ICF in Clinton.
He was a past member of Mayfield First United Methodist Church and attended First United Methodist Church of Martin, Tenn. He was retired sales representative with Schering-Plough Pharmaceutical and an Army World War II and the Korean War veteran.
Mr. Maddox is survived his wife, Louise Crockett Maddox; five daughters, Vicki Smith, Denise Melvin, Amanda Watts, all of Mayfield, Suzie Cathey of Murray, and Jill Holshouser of Mayfield; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Belinda Boyd Maddox; and one brother, Dr. Tom Maddox. His parents were James and Virginia Smith Maddox Sr.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in Mayfield. Visitation will be held following the memorial service at the church. There will be a private burial held at Mayfield Memory Gardens.
