BENTON, KY. - James "Ray" Turner, 87, of Benton died at 7:45 a.m. Monday at his home.
He was a charter member of the Benton Church of the Nazarene. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during the World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Dee Cunningham Turner; two daughters, Becky McKernan of Williamsport, Pa., and Ruth Greenfield of Benton; one son, David Turner of St. Peters, Mo.; two sisters, Mozell Turner of Corbin and Nellie Taylor of Georgia; six grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Turner was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. His parents were Benjamin Turner and Annie Fleming Turner.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Collier Funeral Chapel in Benton. The Rev. Mike Wilford will officiate. Interment will be at Mayfield Memory Gardens in Mayfield.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
