Jane S. Chapman, 80, of Paducah passed away Saturday, March 12, 2011, at 1:15 a.m., at Western Baptist Hospital.
Mrs. Chapman was a retired college instructor and an active member of First Christian Church, where she served as an Elder Emeritus, a member of the C.W.F. Fannie Jones Group, and as a choir member for 37 years.
Surviving are her son, Michael L. Chapman of Atlanta, Ga.; her daughter, Cindy and her husband, Clark Von Nyvenheim of North Augusta, S.C.; her sister, Jean Dallas of Fulton, Ky.; five grandchildren, Chrissy Von Nyvenheim of Seattle, Wash.; Brandon Von Nyvenheim of Lexington, S.C., and Carter, Garrett and Ryland Chapman of Atlanta; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon "Jack" Chapman; and her brother, Jim Shelby. Her parents were Claude and Inez Shelby.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at First Christian Church, with Rev. Jae Gottman officiating.
Visitation will be Sunday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Lindsey Funeral Home.
