Jay Kaneta, 55, of Paducah, Ky., formerly of Newport, Ky., passed away at 12:31 p.m. Monday, December 14, 2009, at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, December 19, 2009, at Spring Bayou Baptist Church in Kevil, Ky., with Bro. Terry Tipton officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Jay was a member of Spring Bayou Baptist Church and a former employee of J. Patrick Kerr Architect in Paducah.
Jay is survived by his wife of 35 years, Rebekah Joan (Cain) Kaneta; his mother, Arra Nell (Beasley) Brown; one son, Todd Kaneta of Paducah; one sister, Rena Michelle Adams and husband Mike of Golo, Ky.; one brother, Keith Owen Kaneta and wife Julie of Amhurst, Massachusetts; and three nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Kaneta; his stepfather, Charles E. Brown Jr.; one sister, Melinda Roedemeier; and one nephew.
Visitation will be held at Spring Bayou Baptist Church from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour Saturday, December 19, 2009.
