SYMSONIA, Ky. - Funeral services for Jerry Don Bowman, 67, of Symsonia were at 11 a.m. Monday, February 1, 2010, at Hughes Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. Harold Council, the Rev. Ronnie Stinson Jr. and the Rev. Topper Council officiating. Burial, with military honors, followed at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Bowman died at 9:15 p.m. Thursday, January 28, 2010, at his daughter's home in Mayfield.
He was a retired chemical operator for Bechtel Jacobs of Oak Ridge, Tenn., a U.S. Navy veteran, a charter member of Southland Baptist Temple and a member of the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include one daughter, Camille Coffman and her husband, Tommy, of Mayfield; his mother, Mary Gladys Bowman of Symsonia; one sister, Shirley Eldridge and her husband, Leroy, of Titusville, Fla.; his fiancee, Barbara Worley of Kevil; three grandchildren, Tyler Coffman of Mayfield, Aleshia Haley of Symsonia and Ricky Vieitez of Benton; three great-grandchildren; and four nephews.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Cathy Vieitez, and his father, William Bowman.
Visitation was from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, January 31, 2010, at the funeral home.
