John Anderson Sr

John R. Anderson Sr., 93, of Paducah died at 10:00 p.m. Friday, May 7, 2010, at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Paducah.
Funeral services for Mr. Anderson will be held at noon Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
A Paducah native, Mr. Anderson was born September 18, 1916 the son of Charles Murrell and Mary McGarrigal-Anderson. He was a graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School and later became known to most of his friends, family, and associates as "JohnR". John was a devoted businessman serving many years as an insurance agent to his community and operating JohnR. Anderson Insurance. Mr. Anderson was devoted to his community as the Grand Exalted Ruler of B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge No. 217 and President of Paducah's downtown Kiwanis Club. He was a Mason, Shriner and a member of First Baptist Church of Paducah.
Mr. Anderson is survived by two sons, John R. Anderson Jr. and wife Brenda of Paducah and David Michael Anderson and wife Therese of Nashville, Tenn.; and six grandchildren, Debbie Flack and husband Robert of Nashville, Tenn., Allison Kraft and husband Michael Louisville, John R. Anderson III and wife Amy of Paducah, Neal Anderson and wife Keely of Nashville, Laura Flores and husband Jimmy of Dallas, Texas and Sally Anderson of Tampa, Fla. He was also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
JohnR. was preceded in death by his loving wife, Evelyn Binkley Anderson; his parents; three sisters; and three brothers.
Pallbears will be John R. Anderson III, Neal Anderson, Jimmy Flores, Robert Flack, Michael Kraft and Glen Anderson.
Visitation for Mr. Anderson will be held Tuesday, May 11, 2010, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
