John Boss, Jr

John Duke "Jack" Boss, 80, of Paducah died at Lourdes hospital Saturday, June 5, 2010.
He was the son of the late John Duke Sr. and Sadie Cora "Biddie" Boss.
Mr. Boss attended St. Mary's, where he played basketball, and Paducah Tilghman. He was a 1949 graduate of Lone Oak High School and served as the senior class vice-president. Jack attended Paducah Junior College and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Mr. Boss was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in Guam during the Korean War. He retired as a supervisor at Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant after 37 years of service and was a former licensed realtor. He was an active member of Lone Oak United Methodist church since 1953, being a member of the administrative board, the United Methodist Men and Sunday school. Jack was an avid sportsman and enjoyed the outdoors.
Mr. Boss is survived by his wife, Ann Padgett Boss; daughter, Sherry Golightly and husband Wayne of Paducah and their children, Brent Golightly and his wife, Amanda and stepdaughter Hannah of Ledbetter, Rachael Houser and husband Neil of Eddyville and John Golightly of Paducah; three sons, John "Sonny" Boss; Shane and wife Diane and their children, Melissa Sykes and husband Steven, Wade Boss and Sam Boss and wife Lisa and his daughter, Kayla Boss, all of Paducah. He is also survived by a sister, Barbara Sizemore and husband Jim of Hernando, Miss.
Funeral arrangements include visitation at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home today, June 7, 2010, from 5 until 8 p.m. and after 1 p.m. until the funeral hour Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at Lone Oak Methodist Church. The service will be held at Lone Oak United Methodist Church Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at 2 p.m. with Dr. Ben Boone officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
