John R. Carlisle, 92, of Paducah died Tuesday at 10:55 a.m. at Lourdes hospital.
John was a member of Lone Oak United Methodist Church, U.S. Air Force veteran, retired educator having served as Teacher, Principal, and Superintendent. He received his Master's Degree and Rank I Certification from Murray State College. He was former Assistant City Manager at Union City, Tenn., and retired Engineer at Union Carbide.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2011, at the Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Dr. Ben Boone officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Survivors include three daughters, Joan Rhew (James), Graves County, Pat Shroyer (Michael), Louisville, Ohio, and Judy Perantoni (Dan), Bloomington, Ind.; one son, Marc Carlisle, Bloomington, Ind.; one sister, Ella Grace Dixon, Lone Oak, Ky.; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death were his wife, Ruth Willingham Carlisle; parents, Victor Harold Carlisle and Estella Merrell Carlisle; one son, Jacky Victor Carlisle; and one sister; two brothers.
