Funeral services for Lee Anna Yancy, age 80, of Paducah, will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 14, 2011, at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah, with the Rev. Mike Nolen officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Yancy passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at her home.
As a young woman, Lee Anna worked at Claussner's Hosiery Mill. She was a longtime member of Bellview Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and was a nursery worker.
She will be remembered by her family as the most wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother in the world.
Lee Anna is survived by her husband of 61 years, William C. Yancy, and her daughter, Martha Sue Yarbrough, and her husband Steve, of Paducah. She is also survived by one sister, Sue Beck, of Texas, three brothers, Harry Burton, of Paducah, Donald Burton, of Indiana, and Jack Burton, of Union City, Tenn. Additional survivors include her four grandchildren, Amber Yancy, Christa Yancy, Renee' Yarbrough, and Austin Yarbrough, along with five great-grandchildren, Blakelynn Bond, Dylan Bond, Zach Scott, Alex Scott and Brandon Miller, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and a special caregiver, Sandy Streit.
Lee Anna was preceded in death by two sons, William Bruce Yancy, and George "Eddie" Yancy, one sister, and her grandparents who raised her, George and Susie Burton. Her parents were Harry Edward and Marguerite Bratton Burton.
