Leona Barnett

Mrs. Leona Estelle Barnett, 94, of Paducah passed away Monday, January 31, 2011, at 4:07 a.m. at Western Baptist Hospital.
Leona was an active member of Broadway Church of Christ for over 70 years. She taught Sunday School for more than 35 years and was active in visitation and mission work. She was a member of McCracken County Homemakers Cardinal Club for over 50 years, the Women's Club, the Matinee Music Club and the Garden Club. She was a member of the Professional Business Women's Club when she lived in Memphis, Tenn. She retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture after 21 years of service.
Survivors include her husband of 73 years, Joe Barnett; one daughter, Hope Osborne; two sons, Steve Barnett and Phillip Barnett; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Arnold DeJarnett; and one sister, Inez Jerrell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, W.S. and Mollie Dodson DeJarnett; and one brother, Eugene DeJarnett.
Services will be held Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Dan Owen and Andy Clausen officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 5 until 8 p.m. today, February 1, 2011, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
