Services for Lerline Weatherspoon McEwen, 72, of Paducah will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at New Greater Love Missionary Baptist Church in Paducah. The Revs. W.G. Harvey Sr. and Darvin Adams will officiate. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. McEwen died at 1:50 a.m. Wednesday at Western Baptist Hospital.
She was a member of St. James Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, where she was a former superintendent of Sunday school. She currently served as secretary of the Missionary Society, choir treasurer, president of stewardess, and served on the Culinary Arts Committee. She was a retiree of Garan Manufacturing and was a private home sitter.
She is survived by seven daughters, Lessa Wilson, Cassandra McEwen, Myrna McEwen, Gail McEwen, Evette King, and Julie McEwen, all of Paducah, and Linda McEwen of Lexington; three sons, William Weatherspoon of Paducah, Tony Saxton of Mayfield, and Ernest Saxton of Rockford, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; a brother, Marshall Weatherspoon of Paducah; and two sisters, Armentha Marie Knox of Clinton and Bertha Dickerson of Paducah.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. McEwen; a son, James Luten; a granddaughter; a sister; and three brothers. Her parents were Lois Weatherspoon and Lena Bell Crumble Weatherspoon.
