Mamie Ada Kathleen Cooper Rikel, age 84, of Paducah, Ky., was called home to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 6, 2010.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, October 8, 2010, at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Revs. Larry Lindsey and Terry Sills officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
She was a member of West End Baptist Church and volunteered at the Paducah Senior Citizens Center. In 2005, she was chosen as Volunteer of the Year by the State of Kentucky.
Mamie is survived by eight children and three stepchildren, Leo Seay of Calvert City, Ky., Gary Seay of Benton, Ky., Roy Springer of Paducah, Robert Springer, Rodney Springer and Richard Springer, all of Morris, Ill., Raymond Springer of Peoria, Arizona, Katherine Darling of Morris, Ill., Ronald Springer of Florida, Nancy Chick and Elton Rikel, both of New Mexico; one sister, Mary Nunally of Florida; 23 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Rikel; her parents, Roy and Ollie Jones Cooper; four brothers; and four sisters.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
