Mayme Sue Ross, 83, of Paducah died at 5:09 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Baptist Health Paducah.
Sue was a dedicated member of Lone Oak Church of Christ where she managed the Sharing Center (clothing room) for the church. She was a 1947 graduate of Lone Oak High School, and a Kentucky Colonel. Sue was retired from McCracken County Schools where she served as Cafeteria Manager at Concord Elementary School for many years. Sue was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Billy Ross; two daughters, Kara Jane Sollitto of Lone Oak, Ky., and Kathy Sue (Ricky) Rogers of Benton, Ky,; two sons, Robert Winfred Ross of Deerfield, Fla., and Ronald Lee (April) Ross of Ripley, Va.; one sister, Faye Parrish of Smithland, Ky.; ten grandchildren, Ryan (Emily) Rogers, Amy (Brian) Edwards, Philip (Whitney) Sollitto, Michael Sollitto, Amanda Ross, Brooks Ross, Lisa Ross, Crista Ross Williams, Alice Ross and Katie Ross; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death are one son, Randall Keith Ross; one granddaughter, Julie Rogers; son-in-law, Jerry Sollitto; parents, Arthur Vanvactor and Clara Lee Harris Vanvactor; one sister, Eurith Vanvactor; and one brother, Bill Vanvactor.
Services will be held Saturday, March 23, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Paul Wingfield and Jamie Boone officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. until service time of 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
