MAYFIELD - Mr. Nathan "Nate" Sholar, 81, of Mayfeld died Saturday, February 26, 2011, at his residence.
Mr. Sholar was the retired owner of World Tower Co. He was a member of High Point Baptist Church, the Sheriffs Boys & Girls Ranch, Kentucky Colt Association, Kentucky Harness Horse Association and the Illinois Standard Bred Owners. He was also a Korean War U.S. Army veteran.
Mr. Sholar is survived by his wife, Nancy Duncan Sholar; a son, Jeff (Sandra) Sholar of Fancy Farm; two daughters, Angie Sholar and Amy (Mike) Gammons, both of Clarksville, Tenn.; a brother, Larry (Amanda) Sholar of Mayfield; two sisters, Dorothy (Joe) Cheshier of Olive Branch, Miss., and Shirley (Clint) Hardin of Germantown, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Julia (Byron) Bryant of Brandon, Miss., and Nathan "Little Nate" Sholar of Fancy Farm; and a great-grandchild, Natalie Grace Bryant of Brandon, Miss.
Mr. Sholar was preceded in death by four brothers, Calvin Sholar, Billy Joe Sholar, Lloyd Ray Sholar and Henry Sholar and his parents, Melvin Nathan and Annie Mae Spillman Sholar.
Services for Mr. Sholar will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2011, in the Byrn Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Tucker officiating. Interment will follow at Mayfield Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. today, February 28, 2011, at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield.
