Mildred L. Steger, 79, of Symsonia passed away at 8:14 a.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013, at her residence.
She was a homemaker and a member of Southland Baptist Temple.
Mildred is survived by her husband of 51 years, John Lynn Steger of Symsonia; two stepdaughters, Janet (Jan T.) Haynes of Paducah and Debi (John) Whitcomb of Birmingham, Ala.; one son, Neal (Maureen) Gore of Benton, Ky.; one brother, Edgar (Jane Ann) Alton of Reidland, Ky.; a special friend and caregiver, Alice Grimes; nine grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Stella Smith Alton.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
The Rev. Harold Council will officiate and burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Paducah.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
Active pallbearers will be Kevin Alton, Kent Henry, Neal Gore, Sean Snyder, Jeff Whitcomb and Chris Snyder.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Blackman, Richard McKinley Byard, Jason Box, Tony Freeman, David Bliss, Blake Nelson, Landon Blackman and Will Freeman.
