Millie L. Gary, 86, of Paducah died at 2 a.m. Tuesday at Western Baptist Hospital.
Mrs. Gary worked as an Environmental Specialist at Western Baptist Hospital for 26 years before retiring, was a member of Mount Olive Freewill Baptist Church, where she served as a Deaconess for 52 years, president of the Trustee Board and the Usher Department, and was Vice-President of the Mission Department, served on the Mother's Board and the Culinary Arts Committee.
Surviving are four sons, Norman Gary and Huey Gary Sr., both of Paducah, William Gary of Seattle, and Keith Lamont Gary of Tacoma, Wash.; three daughters, Dorothy Patterson and Willa P. Gary Smith, both of Paducah, and Ernestine Gary of Dallas; five sisters, Betty Muse, Rosa Anderson, Pearl Green, Mary Lee White and Ada Mae Green, all of Paducah; three brothers, Garfield Green Jr. and Eddie Green, both of Paducah, and the Rev. Alfred Freeman of Metropolis, Ill.; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Ernest P. Gary; one son, Juan Gary; and a brother. Her parents were Garfield Green Sr. and Mary Johnson Green.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Mount Olive Freewill Baptist Church with the Revs. W.G. Harvey Sr. and Alfred Anderson officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday and after 10 a.m. Monday at the church.
