Funeral services for Nathaniel Scott Richard, 7, of Paducah will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Lone Oak First Baptist Church with the Revs. Mike Williams and Stan Reid officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
He died Wednesday at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital in Nashville.
Nate loved Jesus and attended Lone Oak First Baptist Church. He enjoyed being with his family and friends and always looked forward to what fun they could have together each day. Nate had just completed first grade at Lone Oak Elementary School and was crazy about playing basketball.
Nate is survived by his parents, Jeff Richard and Stacie Foster Richard. He was a great big brother to two sisters, Alison Marie Richard, age 5, and Audrey Kate Richard, age 2. His grandparents are Laurie and Geraldine Richard of Boaz and Clyde Foster of Paducah. Also surviving are several uncles, aunts and cousins.
Preceding him in death was his grandmother, Mary Foster.
Visitation will begin after 4 p.m. today at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home and will resume after 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the church.
