Norman Roberts

February 6, 1943 — September 24, 2010

Norman F. Roberts, 67, of Paducah died at 10:42 p.m. Friday, September 24, 2010, at Lourdes hospital.

He was a member of Bible Baptist Church (Heartland Worship Center), a U.S. Army veteran, a retired route representative for Bunny Bread with 31 years of service. He was also a Mason, a Duke of Paducah, a retired Auxiliary Paducah Police officer, past President of Fraternal Order of Police (F.O.P.) Associates Lodge No. 15, a huge UK fan and an avid member of the Cookin' Pigs Barbecue Team, with whom he served many years at Barbecue on the River, including this year's festivities.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judy Ann Byford Roberts; three sons, J.P. Roberts, A.J. Roberts and Roy Roberts, all of Paducah; two brothers, Donnie Roberts of Lone Oak and Ronnie Roberts of Marshall County; four grandchildren, Andrea Roberts, James Roberts and Dylan Roberts, all of Paducah, and Tony English II of West Paducah; one great-granddaughter, Charlie Ann Roberts of Paducah; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix P. and Mable Gibson Roberts, and one brother, Ralph Ball.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at Lindsey Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Young, the Rev. John Aitken and Jerry Beyer officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. today, September 27, 2010, and after 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at Lindsey Funeral Home.
