MAYFIELD, Ky. - Orville "Mickey" Stokes, 78, of Mayfield died at 9:05 a.m. Wednesday at Jackson Purchase Medical Center.
Mr. Stokes was a member of First Christian Church in Mayfield. He was retired from the Merit Clothing Company and a U.S. Army Korean War veteran.
He is survived by a niece, Alyce O'Sullivan of Greenville, Ind.; two nephews, David Stanley of Louisville and Jon Stanley of Phoenix, Ariz.; and several cousins also survive.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Annatta Stanley. His parents were James K. and Ethel Melvin Stokes.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, November 7, 2008, at Mayfield Memory Gardens with the Rev. Victor Brady officiating.
Friends may call between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Friday at Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post No. 26.
