Palmer G. "P.G." Edwards Sr., 78, of Paducah, Ky., passed away at 5:35 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 2010, at Lourdes hospital.
He was a retired construction engineer for Union Carbide. He served 21 years as a Warrant Officer in the National Guard. Palmer was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Geraldine Perry Edwards of Paducah, Ky.; sons, Palmer Gene Edwards Jr. and wife, Judith, of Paducah, Ky., and Anthony Greg Edwards and wife, Debra, of Paducah, Ky.; brothers, Kenneth Edwards of Greenville, S.C., George Edwards of California, Forest Edwards of Paducah, Ky.; grandchildren, Ashley (Jed) Ramey, Chad Edwards, Aaron (Bethany) Edwards, Brittany Edwards; great-grandchildren, Anna Claire Edwards, Addyson Edwards, Jonah Ramey; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Coral and Tennie Hughes Edwards; and a brother, Mitchell Edwards.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at the Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Jim Glover officiating. Entombment will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at the Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
