Paul Edward Murt, 84, of Paducah died at 8:44 a.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Paul was a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 184, and also worked at the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad Shops in Paducah.
He loved hunting and fishing, sign painting and lettering, growing tomatoes, and riding his bicycle.
Paul is survived by his son, Ricky "Scooby" Murt and his wife Angie of Lone Oak; three grandsons, Tyler Murt, USMC, stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC; Ryan Murt, Army ROTC, attending the University of Kentucky; and River Murt, Lone Oak Intermediate School in Lone Oak; as well as one brother, Gene Murt and his wife Mozell of Paducah.
Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Irene Reynolds Murt; and two brothers, Johnny Murt and Carl Murt. His parents were John and Mildred Wallace Murt.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 4, 2013, at Lindsey Funeral Home with the Rev. Leland Hayden officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, and 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Friday, at the funeral home.
