Raleigh Waltmon

Funeral services for Raleigh M. Waltmon, 97, of Paducah will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 22, 2010, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. Wayne Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Waltmon died at 9:35 p.m. Monday, October 18, 2010, at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and retired as a meter reader for Paducah Water Works. Mr. Waltmon was a member of West End Baptist Church, and a 50-year member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church, where he was recognized as a deacon emeritus.
Mr. Waltmon is survived by his son, David Waltmon of Paducah, and his daughter, Jackie Reed of Paducah. He is also survived by a sister, Irene Wooldriege of Paducah; four grandchildren, Alan Jackson, Cyndi Gillingham and her husband, Ken, Brian Waltmon and his wife, Cheryl, and Emily Schneider and her husband, Mark; along with five great-grandchildren and one great-great-stepgrandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Alberta King Waltmon; one sister, Clara Middleton; and one infant brother. His parents were Charles Bell Waltmon and Neppie Myers Waltmon.
Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 21, 2010, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
