Robert L. King, 78, of Paducah died Friday, April 1, 2011 at Western Baptist Hospital.
Robert was an accountant and longtime local tennis player. He also taught tennis for many years at Barkley Park. He was owner of King Brothers Tennis Shop, one of the early establishments promoting tennis in Paducah. He also managed the Paducah Sun-Democrat Tennis Tournament for several years.
Robert graduated from Murray State University, class of 1960, where he was a member of the Varsity Tennis Team. He was also a U.S. Army veteran.
Surviving are his brothers, Raymond K. King of Harriman, Tenn., and Johnny (Benita) King of Lexington, Ky.; his sister-in-law, Alberta King of West Paducah; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ima King; and one brother, Richard L. King.
Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
