Roy Brooks

November 13, 1924 — June 12, 2009

Roy I. Brooks, 84, of Paducah died at 6 a.m. Friday at his home.
He was a member of Gospel Mission Worship Center, where he served as door greeter, and was a retired Ironworker and member of Local 182. He was the retired owner and operator of City Music Company.
Surviving are his wife, Matha Wright Brooks; one daughter, Barbara Joy Tabers of Paducah; one stepson, Rick Wright of Sharpe; one brother, George Brooks of Louisville; three grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Few Brooks; one son, Danny Brooks; one stepson, Randy Wright; one sister; and two brothers. His parents were Luther Perry and Mary Maudline Paul Brooks.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Revs. Terry Henderson and John Offutt officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
