Funeral services for Ruth Elizabeth Hollowell Nelson, 77, of Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Paducah, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. The Rev. Mike Williams will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Ruth died Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at Hope Hospice in Fort Myers.
She was born in 1932 in Paducah to the late Egbert Wesson and Evelyn Boyette Hollowell. She was a member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church and retired as a supervisor from Allstate Insurance in Thousand Oaks, Calif.
Surviving are her children, James Nelson Jr. of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Robert Nelson of San Diego, Calif., and Carolyn Yanai and Linda Nelson both of Fort Myers, Fla.; siblings, Bill Hollowell and wife Annita and Martha Rogers and husband Harold, all of Paducah, and Margaret Brase of St. Louis, Mo; three grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, James Harold Nelson; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers; and one sister.
Visitation will be held this evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
