Shirley Via, 79, of Paducah, died at 10:12 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at Life Care Center of La Center.
She was a caregiver for many people in her community and she worked with her husband building homes for years. She was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker.
She is survived by her son, Mark Edward Via of Paducah, and one sister, Odessa Colantino of St. Louis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Via. Her parents were Otis and Ambie Higgins DePriest.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2013, at the Chapel of Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Johnny Sams officiating.
