Thelma Ruth Clayton Holland, 89, of Sebring, Florida, formerly of Paducah, passed away at 7:50 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2013, at Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring, Florida.
She was born November 15, 1923, in Henry County, Tennessee. She was a member of Lone Oak United Methodist Church, The Alice Gore Sunday School class, and the Wesleyan Circle, in Paducah, Kentucky. Mrs. Holland was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse, working much of her career in Murray, Kentucky where she and her husband raised their family.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Holland McMurtry and son-in-law, Ron McMurtry of Sebring, Florida; and by her son, Paul Edward Holland of Las Vegas, Nevada. Mrs. Holland is also survived by three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, Lyndi Curtis Rodahaffer and her husband, Chris of Louisville, Kentucky, James Curtis, his wife Suzy and their son, Bennett Harrison Curtis, of Cheyney, Pennsylvania, and Matthew Curtis of Paducah, Kentucky. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Holland was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Wyvan Holland; her parents, Albert and Amanda Latimer Clayton; two brothers, Rev. G.E. Clayton and Rev. A.Z. Clayton; two sisters, Mary Sue Clayton Manning Lovell and Ruby Shaw Clayton.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Holland will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Ben Boone and Rev. Zolon Clayton Jr. officiating.
Burial will be 9:00 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2013, at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation for Mrs. Holland will be from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2013, at the Funeral home.
