Thomas Raymond Hoover, 82, of Paducah died Wednesday at Lourdes hospital.
Tom was born in Calvert City on January 3, 1928, to the late Floyd and Sadie Sparks Hoover. He retired from the U.S. Navy in 1973 as a recruiter. He worked at Union Carbide as a painter, was the owner of Tom Hoover Real Estate, and served as the Alcohol Beverage Control supervisor for the City of Paducah.
Surviving are his daughter, Brenda Tinsley and her husband, Jim, of Grand Rivers, Ky.; his son, Kent Hoover and wife, Teresa, of Calvert City; two grandchildren, Sarah Tinsley and Jason Hoover; two great-grandchildren, Hannah and Gunner Hoover; a sister, Arline Brown of Memphis; and three brothers, Kenneth Hoover of Maryland, John Hoover of Calvert City, and Jerry Hoover of Paducah.
Preceding him in death were his parents, and a brother, Albert Louis Hoover.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Lone Oak Chapel of Milner and Orr Funeral Home with his brother, Rev. Kenneth Hoover, officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held Saturday evening from 5-8 p.m.
